Kinsake

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Kinsake ("Kinsake," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and application (the "Service"). Kinsake exists to keep your household knowledge safe and private, so we collect only what we need to run the Service.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your Entries to serve advertising.

3. AI processing of your content

To answer questions, Kinsake sends the relevant Entries and the question to our AI provider (Anthropic) to compose a grounded response. We instruct the model to use only your recorded Entries as its source. Content sent to the AI provider through Kinsake's interface is processed to generate your answer and, under our provider's commercial terms, is not used to train their models.

4. Service providers (sub-processors)

We rely on a small set of trusted providers to operate the Service. Each processes data only as needed to perform their function:

ProviderPurpose
SupabaseDatabase, authentication, and storage
AnthropicAI that generates answers from your Entries
StripePayment processing
ResendTransactional email delivery
VercelWebsite and app hosting (frontend)
RailwayApplication server hosting (backend)

5. How we share information

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Kinsake uses only the essential cookies and local storage needed to sign you in and keep your session active and secure. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not currently use third-party analytics, session-replay, or cross-site tracking tools. If we add analytics or similar technologies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. We do not delete your data when a trial expires or a paid plan lapses — your knowledge is preserved so it remains available if you return or restore access. When you delete your account, we remove your Entries and associated personal data from our active systems. Residual copies may remain for a limited period in encrypted backups, logs, and disaster-recovery systems until they are overwritten on our normal retention cycle, and we retain limited records we are required to keep (for example, billing records for tax and accounting purposes).

8. Security

We protect information in transit using encryption (TLS) and rely on our infrastructure providers for encryption at rest. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Please do not store raw passwords, full account numbers, or Social Security numbers in Kinsake. Record a hint or where to find them instead. This reduces the harm if any account is ever compromised.

9. Your choices and rights

You can review and edit your Entries at any time, export your data, and delete your account from within the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — such as to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email hello@kinsake.co; we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10. Your U.S. state privacy rights

Some U.S. states — including California (under the CCPA/CPRA), as well as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and others — give residents specific rights over their personal information. Where these laws apply to you, they may include the right to:

We do not sell your personal information, we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. To make a request, email hello@kinsake.co. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

11. Children's privacy

Kinsake is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. International users and where your data is stored

Kinsake is operated from the United States and is intended for users located in the United States. Your information is stored and processed in the United States, and we do not market the Service to individuals in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other regions with separate data-transfer requirements. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
